I specialize in the anthropology of sound and music, embodiment, environment, and technology in cities, and especially in Uganda, where my research is based.
I am currently Assistant Professor of Anthropology in the Humanities Department at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY. As a multimodal teacher-scholar, my work lies at the intersection of experimental ethnography, creative arts, and digital humanities.
I received my Ph.D. in Cultural Anthropology from Duke University, with a Graduate Certificate in Gender, Sexuality, and Feminist Studies. You can learn more about my current work as part of the Society of Cultural Anthropology’s Digital Curatorial Collective (DCC) here.
