I work across the anthropologies of sound and music, critical urban environmental studies, intersectional feminist thought, and Afrodiasporic geographies, particularly in Uganda, where my research is based.
My work as a teacher-scholar lies at the intersection of experimental ethnography, creative arts, and digital humanities. I am currently Assistant Professor of Anthropology at the University of Rochester’s Eastman School of Music.
I received my Ph.D. in Cultural Anthropology from Duke University, with a Graduate Certificate in Gender, Sexuality, and Feminist Studies.
